This recording was made in the field in Uganda, close to the border with Burundi and was recorded by Dave's uncle, the late Robbie Robinson in 1962 on a Uher tape recorder.

Salama Ya Habibi one-full version (15.33MB) - See more info.

"Salama Ya Habibi!"....."Peace, my love!" in Arabic.
Medium tempo, electro-organic fusion with lot's of percussion, oud and improvised Middle Eastern vocals, with the main line (Salama Ya Habibi), sung as a chorus at the end.
There are two versions of this piece:
Version one (this one) and another version (version two) which is accompanied by an Arabian string orchestra.
I have kept them as seperate links to avoid any possible confusion.
